Everything dance except ballet. Unless it's really awesome ballet.

So the first dancer gone is Alexie, my foreverlover. Of course. I knew this was going to happen. As soon as Al told me it wasn’t Melinda. I just knew. Like a mother in the 40s who, waking up, just knows her son has been shot by the Japanese. My reaction can be adequately summed up with this.

She dances too “juvenile” for the judges, apparently. Well, yeah, maybe we should start recruiting from retirement homes. Where are their tryouts? Maybe they can host a new show in Scottsdale called So You Think You Can Produce Solid Stool. Everyone would be so mature. It’d be heaven.

So why her, when the other two are obviously worse? Well, they’re the only female dancers left who aren’t jazz/contemporary. Lord knows we have to be well represented from all the styles. I mean, to be real, tapper Melinda did rock her J. Brown solo. But the historical problem with tappers is that they’re not versatile. She better not go any further or I’m starting my perennial angry-letter campaign.

My other observation was that everyone in the bottom was female. As I noted yesterday, the guys are much stronger dancers this season, so I wasn’t surprised to see that.

Usher was definitely missing his vocoder. O.M.G. is way too low for his naked voice.

Sorry this was so bitter.

Why Alexie? WHY?
